We are pleased to announce Advanced Fiber Inc. (AFI) as the recipient of the 2023 Q3 Network Contractor Safety Award for exemplary safety performance, improvement, and innovation. Advanced Fiber Inc. was recognized for the outstanding safety program they put in place. This program included dash cameras in their service vehicles to improved driving behaviors through regular feedback and coaching. Developing in-house safety expertise by sending their safety leads to OSHA’s 510 class, using in-house resources and outside experts to provide safety training on fall protection, bucket truck safety, work zone safety, and confined space entry. Requiring their technicians to complete daily safety pre task plans (JSA) using their QuickBase App. This program has also resulted in no workers’ compensation incidents in 2022 or 2023. The AFI team accepted the Purple Hard Hat Award during the Network Operations Leadership Meeting in Westford, MA on October 18.

AFI’s certified field technicians specialize in single fusion and ribbon splicing, ribbonizing loose tube cable, and all types of closure installation.
Troubleshooting and network restoration
Our field technicians swiftly dispatch and identify network issues. The problems are quickly resolved and network continuity restored.
Testing and documentation services
AFI services include bi-directional loss readings, end to end trace reading, testing services plus documentation per customer specifications and requirements.

Advanced Fiber Inc. (AFI) was founded in 1998 by co-owners Bob Rizzuto and John Maggio, who have been in the telecom field since 1989. AFI has the expertise, technology, equipment and highly trained personnel to handle any fiber communications construction project.

AFI SAFETY PROGRAM
Advanced Fiber Inc. is committed to workplace safety and has implemented control measures to protect both our employees and the public at large. We partner with safety consultants from Haylor, Freyer and Coon Inc., who regulate our field personnel through on-site D.O.T. safety inspections coupled with Samsara fleetmatic software to maintain safe driving habits. We are OSHA compliant, and all employees receive remedial courses in aerial lift, fall protection, confined space training and personal protective equipment. Our annual company Safety Day hosts industry professionals who provide classroom training, plus hands-on demonstrations with our field personnel to address various aspects of workplace safety.
